Introduction

SSH is a must use tool for system administrators. However, residing access security on a human entered password is not very wise. Script kiddies may break into your system due to a lazy user with a weak password. And it is beyond the system administrator power to make users choose good passwords.

Quoted from Wikipedia: "Serial Presence Detect (SPD) refers to a standardized way to automatically access information about a computer memory module". This means, it is possible by software to get information about memory modules available on your computer. This information include: manufacturer, model, size, speed, CAS latency, manufacturing date to name a few. This can be handy to verify the specifications of a newly bought memory module, to get information useful for overclocking and to get …

Multi Architecture Debian GNU/Linux Installation

Introduction

With the arrival of systems supporting AMD's new architecture AMD64, comes a transition period where several applications developed to Intel's wp>IA-32 architecture are not still ported to AMD64. Thus, many times it is not possible to have a 100% pure AMD64 system, due to the need to run this legacy IA-32 applications, such as Flash, wp>Skype or Opera.

Connecting Linux to the Internet via Bluetooth and GPRS - old revision restored

After I bought my Nokia 6681 phone, I spent some time trying to figure out how to connect my notebook to the Internet through a bluetooth connection using GPRS. All I needed were some initialization strings to the bluetooth modem of my phone and the ppp network configuration of my phone company, Claro. I had no luck on Nokia's manuals and Claro did not even knew what I was talking about (although there is no way I can guess what are their configuration...).
